Hazardous waste drop-off to be held at ECC South

Story tools:

Oil-based paints, household and pool chemicals, and propane tanks are among the items that will be accepted at Saturday’s household hazardous waste drop-off day in Orchard Park.

The event will be held from 9 a. m. to 2 p. m. at Erie Community College’s South Campus. Enter the campus from Big Tree Road (Route 20A).

Open to Erie County residents, all waste must be household-generated. There are limits on the amount of oil-based paints (10 gallons), solvents (2 gallons) and pesticides (2 gallons or 20 pounds).

Additional information is available by calling the Erie County Household Hazardous Waste 24-hour hotline at 858-6800 or visiting www.erie.gov .
