Bills game produces arrest of 25 people

Story tools:

Not all the action was on the field Sunday for the Buffalo Bills’ opening game.

Orchard Park police reported 25 people were arrested on charges including disorderly conduct, harassment, resisting arrest, criminal mischief, underage possession of alcohol, DWI and larceny.

Lt. Mark Pacholec of the Orchard Park Police Department said 11 of those arrested were released on appearance tickets.

By 9:30 Sunday night, all but one suspect had been released after being processed.

Additionally, Pacholec said a hit-and- run accident on Big Tree Road near Drive 1 of the stadium resulted in charges by both the Orchard Park police and state police.

He said the number of arrests Sunday — when the home team romped to a 34-10 victory over the Seattle Seahawks — was about average.

When the number of arrests amounts to 30 or more at a game or in its aftermath, Pacholec said, “then it’s a busy night”.
