Driver loses control of truck, hits restaurant
A pickup truck slammed into a Town of Evans restaurant late Thursday night, causing substantial damage and cutting the gas line. The driver lost control of his vehicle when he choked on a cup of coffee he was drinking, Evans police said.
The crash occurred shortly before 9:55 p. m., when the driver attempted to get off Erie Road while choking on the coffee. But he lost control of the eastbound truck, which slammed into Cala’s Kitchen, at 6888 Erie Road, Evans Police Chief Ernest Masullo said.
No charges have been filed.
