Senate approves designating ‘Timothy J. Russert Highway’
WASHINGTON — The Senate on Wednesday passed by voice vote legislation naming a portion of Route 20A near Ralph Wilson Stadium “Timothy J. Russert Highway” in honor of the Buffaloborn NBC journalist who died June 13.
The bill was sponsored by Sens. Charles E. Schumer and Hillary Rodham Clinton, both D-N. Y. A companion bill in the House offered by Rep. Brian Higgins, D-Buffalo, is expected to pass in the next few days. President Bush’s signature is expected.
