A North Carolina bail bondsman was charged with misdemeanor criminal possession of a weapon after he stopped at a Southtowns State Police barracks and was allegedly found to have a 9 mm pistol, troopers said Friday.
Barry Hicks, 49, of Efland, N. C., visited the Boston barracks of the State Police to “ascertain information on a subject he was looking for in Erie County,” according to a State Police statement.
While at the barracks, State Police Investigator Robert Gardner noticed Hicks was carrying the pistol but didn’t have the required paperwork to carry the weapon in New York.
