Around town/ Public meetings in local communities this week

Alden

The Town Board will meet at 7 p. m. Monday in Town Hall, 3311 Wende Road.

Amherst

The Town Board will hold its regular meeting at 7 p. m. Monday in the Council Chambers of the Amherst Municipal Building, 5583 Main St., Williamsville. The meeting will be preceded by a work session at 3 p. m. Also this week:

• The Williamsville Board of Trustees will meet at 6 p. m. Monday for its annual reorganization meeting in Village Hall, 5565 Main St.

• The Sweet Home Central School Board will meet at 7 p. m. Tuesday in the Norman Vergils Community Center at Sweet Home High School, 1901 Sweet Home Road. A regular voting meeting and a reorganization meeting are planned.

• The Williamsville Central School Board will hold its annual reorganizational meeting at 7 p. m. Tuesday in the District Office board room, 105 Casey Road, East Amherst.

Buffalo

The Common Council will meet at 2 p. m. Tuesday when lawmakers are expected to pass a law that would allow residents to raise chickens. The meeting will be held in Council Chambers on the 13th floor of City Hall. Also this week:

• The Joint Schools Construction Board will meet at 3 p. m. Monday in Room 801 at City Hall. • The Council will hold its premeeting caucus at 2 p. m. Monday in Room 1417 of City Hall.

•The Preservation Board will meet at 3 p. m Thursday in Room 901 of City Hall.

Cheektowaga

The Town Board will meet at 6:45 p. m. Monday in Town Hall, 3301 Broadway at Union Road. Also this week:

• The Cheektowaga Central School Board will hold its reorganizational meeting, followed by a regular meeting beginning at 7 p. m. Tuesday in the board room at the Senior High School, 3600 Union Road, Cheektowaga.

• The Cheektowaga-Sloan School Board will meet at 6:30 p. m. Tuesday in Woodrow Wilson School, 166 Halstead Ave.

Eden

The Eden Central School Board will hold it’s reorganizational meeting at 7 p. m. Wednesday, followed by a regular meeting of the board at the Junior/ Senior High School, 3150 Schoolview Road, Eden.

Erie County

The Erie County Legislature will meet at 2 p. m. Thursday on the fourth floor of Old County Hall, 92 Franklin St. Also this week:

• The County Legislature’s Health and Human Services Committee will meet at 8:30 a. m. Monday on the fourth floor of Old County Hall, 92 Franklin St. The Community Enrichment Committee will meet at 9:30 a. m.; Economic Development at 10:30 a. m., Public Safety at 11:30 a. m., Government Affairs at 12:30 p. m.; and Energy&Environment at 1:30 p. m.

Hamburg

The Village Board will conduct a work session at 5:30 p. m. Monday, followed by a regular meeting at 7 p. m. in Village Hall, 100 Main St.

Lackawanna

The City Council will meet at 7 p. m. Thursday in Parkview Towers, 600 Ridge Road. Also this week:

• The City Council will meet in a work session at 1 p. m. Thursday in Council Chambers, Lackawanna City Hall, 714 Ridge Road. On the agenda is a strategy to alleviate flood zones in the city.

Lancaster

The School Board will conduct its reorganizational meeting at 7 p. m. Monday in the board room at 177 Central Ave.

North Collins

The Village Board will meet at 7 p. m. Tuesday in the Village Hall, 10543 Main St.

Orchard Park

The Park Town Board will conduct a work session at 6 p. m. Wednesday in the Municipal Center, 4295 S. Buffalo St. Also this week:

• The Orchard Park Planning Board will meet at 7:30 p. m. Wednesday in the basement conference room in the Municipal Center.

Town of Tonawanda

The Town Board meets at 7:30 p. m. Monday in Council Chambers at the Municipal Building, 2919 Delaware Ave., Kenmore. A work session begins at 4 in the conference room. Also this week:

• The Kenmore-Town of Tonawanda School Board will hold its reorganizational meeting at 7 p. m. Tuesday in the community room of the Philip Sheridan Building, 3200 Elmwood Ave.
