School Board gets new leadership
BATAVIA—Two members of the City School District Board of Education assumed leadership roles after being sworn in for their second three-year terms Wednesday.
Andrew Pedro will succeed Patrick D. Burk as president, ending Burk’s five-year tenure. Gail M. Stevens was elected vice president, succeeding Wayne W. Guenther. They were the only candidates and received unanimous approval.
Also sworn in was Gary F. Stich, a longtime member of the board. The board also made numerous appointments at its annual organizational meeting.
