BATAVIA

VA Medical Center to mark 75th birthday Saturday

BATAVIA—The Veterans Affairs Medical Center in Batavia is observing its 75th birthday with a variety of events Saturday.

The facility at 222 Richmond Ave. has provided care for U. S. veterans since April 30, 1934. Festivities include a parade, military and history displays and band concerts. The parade will start at 1:30 p. m., beginning at the gate opposite Redfield Parkway, followed by a formal program in front of Building 1.

Free parking will be available at Batavia Downs on Park Road with shuttles beginning at noon. Redfield Parkway and Richmond Avenue will be closed during the parade.
