Conservative Party backs Edwards for re-election

JAMESTOWN—The Chautauqua County Conservative Party has endorsed County Executive Gregory J. Edwards for re-election, party chairwoman Jan R. Potter announced. Endorsements were made following two meetings during the past month with candidates in the Gerace Office Building in Mayville. Edwards, a Republican, is completing his first term.

Conservatives also gave their backing to three other incumbents seeking countywideoffices— Sandra K. Sopak, county clerk; David W. Foley, district attorney; and Steven W. Cass, Surrogate Court judge. Endorsements also were given in 14 County Legislature races and numerous town contests.
