SPCA FUNDRAISER: A “Wine and Wags Social” and fundraiser will be presented from 6 to 9 p. m. today at the Erie County Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals, 205 Ensminger Road, Town of Tonawanda. The Premier Group will provide an assortment of Niagara Peninsula wines, and cuisine from area restaurants will be offered. Food, drink and toys, courtesy of Pet Supplies Plus, will be on hand for pets. All proceeds benefit animals at the SPCA. Reservations are $35 in advance, $45 at the door. HEALTH EDUCATION SEMINAR: Catholic Health will present “Partial Knee Replacement Made Simple” at 7 p. m. today in the community room of Kenmore Mercy Hospital, 2950 Elmwood Ave., Town of Tonawanda. Learn how surgical robots are making knee replacement surgery simpler and less painful, with shorter recovery times. Representatives will demonstrate how a medical robot guides the doctor’s hand during surgery.
TRAVEL EXPO: The Chautauqua County Travel Expo will take place from 1 to 3 p. m. today in the Chautauqua Suites and Meeting Center, 215 West Lake Road, Mayville. It will feature attractions, accommodations and restaurants within the Chautauqua region. Free tours of the Chautauqua Institution and boat tours of the lake are scheduled for noon and 4 p. m. SAFETY PROGRAM: Independent Health Foundation’s Good for the Neighborhood program will take place from 6 to 8 p. m. CANCER FUNDRAISER: The Leukemia&Lymphoma Society will hold its 20th annual Gelatin Splash at 6 p. m. Thursday at Banchetti By Rizzo’s, 550 North French Road, Getzville. The event raises funds for leukemia, lymphoma and blood cancer research. Participants need to collect a minimum $300 in sponsorship to slide into 1000 gallons of gelatin in honor of a local cancer patient. PROFESSIONAL TRAINING: A training session on identifying and reporting child abuse will be held from 7 to 9:30 p. m.
