GCC to hold the line on tuition next year

Story tools:

BATAVIA—After several years of modest tuition increases, Genesee Community College has announced it will hold the line at $1,700 per semester for the 2009-10 academic year.

The board of trustees agreed to keep the tuition level the same in its $32.6 million spending plan, which will now be submitted to the Genesee County Legislature, GCC’s sponsor. The county’s annual share of the GCC operating budget is nearly $2 million.

The budget includes a new campus center at Lima in Livingston County and the relocation of an expanded School of Nursing to a Med-Tech Park, now being developed near the college.

Part-time students also get a break, continuing to pay $140 per credit hour.
