Teacher pleads guilty in sexual abuse case

LITTLE VALLEY— Michael J. DuPont, 43, a Salamanca seventh-grade science teacher, entered guilty pleas Monday in Cattaraugus County Court to two counts of second-degree sodomy and two counts of disseminating indecent material to minors, District Attorney Edward M. Sharkey reported. DuPont, of Kent Boulevard, Salamanca, was accused of sexually abusing two boys, one 13, the other 14, in 2002. He also was charged with showing indecent material on his computer to boys in Salamanca Middle School in January 2007. As part of his plea deal, he will surrender his teaching license. Sentencing was set for June 15.

In other cases:

• Marc D. Swiech, 40, of Boston, pleaded guilty to felony driving while intoxicated and second-degree aggravated unlicensed driving to satisfy an indictment. Sentencing was set for July 27.

• Anthony M. Zasimowick, 20, of Franklinville, pleaded guilty to attempted fifth-degree drug sales to satisfy an indictment. Sentencing was set for June 15.

• Jeffrey A. Heater, 37, of Delevan, pleaded not guilty to two counts of felony DWI and first-degree aggravated unlicensed driving.

• Geoffrey A. Cullinan, 28, of Portville, pleaded guilty to felony DWI and second-degree aggravated unlicensed driving. Sentencing was set for July 27.

•Cassandra L. Milligan, 28, of Portville, pleaded guilty to fourth-degree grand larceny. She was charged with stealing items worth more than $1,000.
