GCC moving campus center in Lakeville to Lima
BATAVIA — Genesee Community College will move one of its Livingston County campus centers from Lakeville seven miles north to Lima.
GCC officials said the new 9,000- square-feet location will better serve a growing population and a large school district that will serve students bound for the two-year college.
The Lima location will house technology- equipped classrooms, a student computer lab, a science lab and electronic links to the GCC library and other college services. Construction will begin soon and is to be completed for the fall 2009 semester.
GCC in the last decade has opened campus centers in Albion and Medina in Orleans County, Warsaw and Arcade in Wyoming County and Dansville in Livingston County. Enrollment from Livingston is now close to 1,000.
