FIRE COMPANY ORGANIZATIONAL MEETING: South Line Fire District No. 10 will hold its organizational meeting for the year 2009 at 6 p. m. Monday in the fire house, 1049 French Road, Cheektowaga. The meeting is open to the public.
BISTRO BOOKERS MEETING: Bistro Bookers will present a talk by William T. Ganley, beginning with refreshments at 5:30 p. m., followed by the presentation at 6:30 next Tuesday in Chef’s Restaurant, 291 Seneca St. Ganley will review “The World Is Curved: Hidden Dangers to the Global Economy,” by David M. BLOOD DRIVES: The American Red Cross will sponsor several blood drives throughout Western New York to help boost the community blood supply. Blood drives will be held today from 11 a. m. to 6 p. m. in the Red Cross Donor Center, 576 Dick Road, Suite 1, Cheektowaga; from noon to 7 p. m. in the Lancaster Elks Lodge, 33 Legion Parkway; from 1 to 7 p. m. in East Aurora Moose Lodge No. 370, 905 Main St.; and from 2 to 7 p. m. in the Red Cross Donor Center, 5161 Camp Road, Hamburg. Drives also will take place from 7 a. m. to 1 p. m. Wednesday in the Red Cross Donor Center, 786 Delaware Ave., and at the donor center located at 4627 Transit Road, Amherst. Donors must be 17 years or older, weigh at least 110 pounds and be in general good health. For details, call (800) 448-3543.
