City, town tax rates announced for ’09

LITTLE VALLEY — The Cattaraugus County Legislature has announced city and town tax rates in support of the recently adopted $203.9 million spending plan for 2009.

The $44.9 million tax levy is 4.26 percent more than in 2008, while total spending is up by about $9 million.

The budget reflects a tax increase of 0.85 percent, for an estimated full-value tax rate of less than $12 per $1,000 of assessed valuation. Property owners will receive tax bills about Jan. 1.

The tax rate for the City of Olean is $154.30 per $1,000, up by 1.37 percent. City of Salamanca residents will pay $60.77 per $1,000, a rise of 5.81 percent.

Town tax rates, per $1,000 of assessed valuation, follow:

Allegany — $12.06, an increase of 0.85 percent.

Ashford — $18, up by 5.36 percent.

Carrollton — $14.53, up by 9.35 percent.

Coldspring — $14.89, up by 0.85 percent.

Conewango — $17.23, up by 5.17 percent.

Dayton — $14.53, up by 3.27 percent.

East Otto — $15.66, up by 3.47 percent.

Ellicottville — $12.06, up by 0.85 percent.

Farmersville — $12.06, down by 29.41 percent.

Franklinville — $14.90, up by 5.92 percent.

Freedom — $228.31, up by 7.2 percent.

Great Valley — $527.19, up by 4.1 percent.

Hinsdale — $12.06, up by 0.85 percent.

Humphrey — $25.66, up by 22.3 percent.

Ischua — $134.82, up by 6.48 percent.

Leon — $18.27, up by 3.9 percent.

Little Valley — $15.88, up by 8.81 percent.

Lyndon — $14.89, up by 5.82 percent.

Machias — $16.52, up by 6.37 percent.

Mansfield — $12.06, up by 0.85 percent.

Napoli — $17.74, up by 3.81 percent.

New Albion — $15.08, up by 7.15 percent.

Olean — $15.08, up by 7.15 percent.

Otto — $15.27, up by 4.68 percent.

Perrysburg — $15.66, up by 4.78 percent.

Persia — $15.08, up by 7.15 percent.

Portville — $12.33, up by 2.91 percent.

Randolph — $12.43, up by 3.97 percent.

Red House — $12.06, up by 0.85 percent.

Salamanca — $12.06, down by 11.26 percent.

South Valley — $13.70, down by 2.59 percent.

Yorkshire — $61.89, up by 3.43 percent.
