Job Academy seeking recruits for training program

Story tools:

CASSADAGA — The Cassadaga Job Academy has launched its fall recruitment drive. The academy, administered by the U. S. Department of Labor, is looking for students ages 16 to 24 to enroll in the voluntary, residential job training and education program.

The program is aimed at helping economically disadvantaged youth. Incomeeligible students attend the program on full federal scholarship and receive benefits including career technical, academic and life skill training, along with housing and health care.

Students in the program spend an average of 18 months completing career technical training while working toward a high school diploma or GED. In addition, high school graduates are eligible to complete career technical training. Job Corps also offers students advanced career training programs.
