END-OF-LIFE CONFERENCE: The MOLST Program: A Community Approach to Improving Care at the End of Life will hold an all-day conference from 8 a. m. to 4:30 p. m. today in the Millennium Hotel, 2040 Walden Ave., Cheektowaga. Dr. Patricia Bomba, vice president and medical director of geriatrics for Univera Healthcare, and Dr. Anthony Billittier IV, Erie County health commissioner, will address the issues of advance care planning and the documentation of medical orders for life-sustaining treatment.

HERITAGE CELEBRATION: St. Bonaventure will host the university’s first Native American Heritage Celebration today through Nov. 21. The event is free and open to students, faculty and the local community. The two-week-long celebration includes lectures, discussions, movies, music, a performance by the Seneca Youth Dancers and tours of the Native American exhibit in the Regina A. Quick Center for the Arts. For time and dates of the specific programs, call the school at 375-2000.

VETERANS DAY: A Veterans Day breakfast and seminar to increase awareness of benefits veterans are eligible for is set for 8:30 a. m. Tuesday in Amberleigh Retirement Community, 2330 Maple Road, Amherst. Harry Rudy, a senior counselor for the state Division of Veterans Affairs, will discuss the benefits available and answer questions starting at 9:30. INDIAN HERITAGE: As part of National American Indian Heritage Month, Native American poet Joy Harjo will speak at 7 p. m. Wednesday in Room 209 of McEwen Hall at Fredonia State College. A member of the Muscogee/Creek Nation, Harjo will blend Native American stories and urban narratives told from the female perspective. For more information, call 307-3766.

JOB FAIR: The Fall Nursing Job Fair will be held from 12:30 to 2 p. m. Thursday at the Batavia Campus of Genesee Community College, 1 College Road. The event is free and open to the public. FASHION SHOW: The Elmwood Village Association is hosting the Mass Appeal Fashion Show at 9 p. m. Friday in Lafayette Avenue Presbyterian Church, Lafayette and Elmwood avenues, displaying the diverse clothing lines and collections of businesses within the Elmwood Village. Tickets range from $10 to $100. Doors open at 7 p. m. All funds raised will support the mission of the association. For further information, call 881-0707.

SCHOOL BENEFIT: A cocktail party to benefit the Frederick Law Olmsted School Foundation will be held from 5:30 to 8 p. m. Friday in Olmsted at Kensington School, 319 Suffolk St.

The foundation is a nonprofit corporation set up to foster the school’s long-term growth and stability by funding school-related projects and equipment. Admission to the party will be $15, or $25 per couple. Call 816-3426 for reservations.
