‘EXTREME MAKEOVER’

‘Good Morning America’ to unveil railroad work

Story tools:

Work by the crew of “Extreme Makeover: Home Edition” to make the Arcade & Attica Railroad accessible to wheelchairs will be unveiled on “Good Morning America” between 8 and 9 a. m. Friday.

The makeover was completed last week after “Extreme Makeover” host Ty Pennington surprised 12-year-old Jon Thomas Robertson, of Cuba, on the national morning show with the announcement that the ABC crew would retrofit the train.

J. T., who has raised money for several years to bring disabled or sick children on the train, wrote to the show earlier this year seeking help in making the train more accessible to electric or oversized wheelchairs.

Producers from “Good Morning America” wrote in a letter to The Buffalo News that they were “greatly touched by and thankful for the heartfelt kindness of strangers who donated their time, muscle, food, drinks, support and more during our whirlwind time in your can-do town” of Arcade.
