5 charged in welfare fraud in Cattaraugus County

LITTLE VALLEY — Five people were arrested late last week and charged with welfare fraud, the Cattaraugus County Sheriff’s Office reports. In all, they were charged with 20 felonies and five misdemeanors. They are:

Martin E. Atzrott, 51, of Bagdad Road, Gowanda; Duane E. Brown, 55, of North Clinton Street, Olean; Victor T. Farr Jr., 39, of Andrews Street, Olean; Mary E. Proctor, 41, of Route 240, West Valley; and Tina M. Serrianni, 35, of Toad Hollow Road, Little Valley.

Each has been issued an appearance ticket for Olean City Court. They are accused of illegally receiving more than $5,500 in benefits.
