Man who triggered chase faces numerous charges
SHERIDAN — Chautauqua County sheriff’s deputies arrested a Forestville man early Saturday morning on multiple charges including driving while intoxicated after he refused to pull over and led them on a chase.
Deputies said they saw Donald N. Cole Jr., 43, of King Road at about 2:58 a. m. as he failed to keep right and stay in his lane. When they tried to pull him over, Cole refused and led them on a pursuit on Miller Road and South Roberts Road.
Cole eventually stopped but then refused to get out of his car. Deputies pulled him out and arrested him. Cole was then taken to Brooks Memorial Hospital for treatment of a pre-existing condition. He was admitted and was expected to appear in Sheridan Court when he is released from the hospital.
Cole was charged with failure to stay in lane, failure to keep right, DWI, second-degree obstructing governmental administration, first-degree felony aggravated unlicensed operation, resisting arrest and seventh-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance.
