Postmaster admits embezzling $100,000
GREENHURST — A Lakewood woman who served as Greenhurst postmaster faces 10 years in prison and a $250,000 fine for embezzling $100,000 from the post office, U. S. Attorney Terrance P. Flynn said.
Julie Cashmore, 46, pleaded guilty Wednesday to a charge of theft of government property. Cashmore stole Postal Service money orders and proceeds from stamps totaling $100,000 between October 2006 and January 2008, according to Assistant U. S. Attorney Marie P. Grisanti.
Cashmore is scheduled to be sentenced Dec. 17 before U. S. District Judge William M. Skretny.
