Vehicle hits house in Pembroke; DWI charged
PEMBROKE — A Town of Akron man who struck a house and drove through a cornfield Saturday afternoon has been charged with driving while intoxicated, Genesee County sheriff’s deputies said.
Deputies said that Jamie McGiveron, 32, crashed into a residence on Indian Falls Road in the Town of Pembroke shortly before 4 p. m., then plowed into a cornfield before driving back onto the roadway. Upon investigation, deputies said, they determined that he was intoxicated.
McGiveron suffered minor injuries and refused medical treatment. He also was charged with failing to keep right, driving in a no passing zone and moving from a lane unsafely. Bail is set at $2,500.
