Man allegedly posed as officer to rent cars
A Franklinville man arrested July 29 obtained 22 rental cars at various times by posing as an investigator with the State Courts Domestic Abuse Unit, state police in Clarence said.
Patrick T. Fuhr, 49, faces five counts of criminal possession of a forged instrument and criminal impersonation, both felonies.
Police said a rental car agency alerted police after Fuhr attempted to obtain a billing account for rental cars. Fuhr has been posing as a police officer and had invoices from rental agencies sent to a fictitious address, police said.
