RETREAT: Registration for the “Friendship of Women” retreat will be held at 9:30 a. m. Friday at First Presbyterian Church, One Symphony Circle. The event will include a continental breakfast, luncheon and speaker, the Rev. Geri Lyon. For more information, call 882-4793.

THEATER STUDENTS PERFORM: Students in the Performing Arts Experience at Genesee, the summer theater workshop for area youth at Genesee Community College, will present Tim Burton’s “The Nightmare Before Christmas,” an adaptation by Maryanne Arena. FLEA MARKET: The Niagara Falls Salvation Army will host a flea market to benefit Missionary World Services from 9 a. m. to 2 p. m. Saturday in the Salvation Army facility at 7018 Buffalo Ave., Niagara Falls. Admission is free. Individuals interested in having a table at the flea market or having the Salvation Army sell items on their behalf may contact Maj. Susan Stinson, co-director of the Niagara Falls corps, at 283-7697. Anyone wishing to donate items for the event may drop them off at the Buffalo Avenue facility during business hours.

BIBLE TALK: The Women Home and Overseas Missionary Society will host a talk, “100 Women in Biblical Hats,” by the Rev. Dr. Robert

L. Graham from 3 to 5 p. m. Saturday at St. Luke A. M. E. Zion Church, 314 E. Ferry St. Admission is free and refreshments will be served.

BLUEBERRY-PICKING FUNDRAISER: The Western New York Land Conservancy will host a Upick blueberry fundraiser from 1 to 4 p. m. Saturday at Jim and Toni Cudney’s farm, 5991 Scherff Road in Orchard Park. All proceeds will be donated to the conservancy. Bring your own containers. For details, call 662-9428.

CAR CRUISE: The second annual Cruise at the College will be held from 4 to 8 p. m. Saturday at Genesee Community College. It will feature cars, motorcycles and trucks from across the region. GIRL SCOUTS SESSION: The Lancaster Service Unit of the Girl Scouts of Western New York will be holding an informational session for parents and girls interested in receiving information about joining Girl Scouts. It will be held from 11 a. m. to 1 p. m. Saturday at Lancaster Public Library at 5466 Broadway. There will be exhibits and activities by local troops, as well as general information about Girl Scouts. For more information, call 681-0961.

SENIOR SEMINAR SERIES: Montgomery Park, at 6363 Transit Road, East Amherst, will host five seminars in August as part of its “Let’s Talk Seniors” program.
