Four target-shooting strike man nearby
ARCADE — Four people who went target-shooting in a field in this Wyoming County town were charged with reckless endangerment after a man sitting nearby was accidentally shot by one of them, state police reported late Monday.
The victim, James Carley, 59, of Genesee Road, Arcade, was sitting outside his house at about 3 p. m. when he was shot in the neck.
Carley was taken to Bertrand Chaffee Hospital, Springville, then to Erie County Medical Center, Buffalo, where he was listed in stable condition late Monday. His injuries don’t appear to be life-threatening.
Four Erie County residents who were target-shooting in the nearby field were charged with reckless endangerment by state police out of the Machias barracks.
The four, who were issued appearance tickets to Town of Arcade Court, are: Patrick Gallagher, 27, of Blasdell; Gerard Pawlowski, 27, of Germania Street, Buffalo; Alania Clark, 30, also of Germania Street; and Matthew Lonergan, 20, of Richmond Avenue in Buffalo.
