2 charged in theft of safe from restaurant
SOUTH VALLEY — Two Chautauqua County residents have been charged in connection with the theft of a safe containing $3,500 from the Ni- L-Inn Restaurant on May 20.
Trisha L. Schrecengost, 40, of Gifford Avenue, Celeron, and Jason L. A. Burger, 23, of Riverside Road, Jamestown, were arrested by Cattaraugus County sheriff’s deputies and charged with third-degree burglary and fourth-degree grand larceny earlier this week.
Deputies said an investigation determined that the two broke into the restaurant, stealing some papers and the safe. The safe was taken to another location and emptied.
Following arraignment in Town Court, Schrecengost was released without bail and Burger was taken to Cattaraugus County Jail with bail set at $5,000.
