Study to gauge support available for sports facility
DUNKIRK — The fundraising feasibility study for the Chautauqua Multi- Use Sports Facility in Dunkirk has begun with the mailing of 75 information packets to area community and business leaders, Facility Committee President Don Horton said.
John Earshen and his company, the Mattison Group, have been hired to do the study, which will gauge the area’s interest and ability to financially support a new sports complex in northern Chautauqua County. Earshen also will interview individuals and groups, and release a final report to the Facility Committee in September.
The Multi-Use Sports Facility Committee will have an information table at the Fredonia Farm Festival, Aug. 22-24. The proposed multimillion-dollar project would include indoor playing fields, concession and meeting areas, as well as an ice rink. The proposed project’s Web site is www.cmusf.com .
