CONCERT: The Mid-Day Concert Series will debut at noon today with jazz vocalist Laurie Bordonaro- Mozee in Akron’s Russell Park. Sponsored by the Akron Chamber of Commerce, the six-day concert series continues on Thursdays through Aug. 14.
TRACTOR PULL: The East Concord Fire Department will host its annual Truck and Tractor Pull at noon Saturday and 1 p. m. Sunday at the Firemen’s Grounds, Route 240 and Genesee Road, East Concord. TAILGATE PARTY: The Kevin Everett 12th Man Tailgate party will be held from 4 to 8 p. m. Sunday at Brierwood Country Club, Town of Hamburg. ORIENTATION SESSION: Adoption STAR, a state-authorized adoption agency located at 47 Plaza Drive in Amherst, will host an orientation session for those interested in adoption and learning more about adopting. CAT CLINIC: Niagara Feline Friends, a not-for-profit cat rescue group, is holding an appointment-only cat clinic July 13. For $75, cats can be spayed or neutered, receive rabies and distemper shots, and have their claws trimmed. The number to call for appointments is 754-2050, a number that is available between 1 and 5 p. m. Tuesday through Friday only.
The group also has a cat adoption show from 1 to 5 p. m. July 20 at Petco, 1459 Niagara Falls Blvd., Amherst. Cats of all ages will be available for $70.
OUR LADY OF CZESTOCHOWA: Polish day events scheduled from 1 p. m. to the evening Sunday, Our Lady of Fatima Shrine, 1023 Swann Road, Lewiston. Polish Mass with the Rev. Jacek Mazur, pastor of Divine Mercy Parish in Niagara Falls, will be held at 1:30 p. m. A rosary procession in English and Polish and benediction with blessed sacrament will be held at 3 p. m.
WORKSHOP: The Center for Inquiry, located at 1310 Sweet Home Road in Amherst, will be hosting a three-day Phronesis Workshop beginning this Tuesday.
