Three held in burglary at former ski lodge
Three Springville men in their 20s have been charged with third-degree burglary, accused of stealing copper wire from the old Bluemont Ski Resort lodge in the Town of Yorkshire late Thursday.
Scott Bellinger of Trevett Road; Gregory Shawl of Childs Street; and James O’Brien III of Transit Line Road, entered the old ski lodge on Creek Road and stole copper wire that they planned to sell, according to Cattaraugus County sheriff’s deputies.
Deputies said they found the men in the building, now owned by Kingbrook Funding LLC, about 11:45 p. m.
Bellinger and O’Brien also were charged with a second count of burglary after being accused of stealing copper from the building the previous night. All three men were jailed, Bellinger and O’Brien in lieu of $1,500 bail, Shawl in lieu of $1,000 bail.
