Sex offender sentenced for having child porn
An Allegany County man on parole for sex charges against a minor was sentenced to 27 years in prison and lifetime parole by a federal judge Tuesday on three felony charges of possessing child pornography.
Jeffery Sikes, 34, of Ceres, was arrested after an investigation by an undercover U. S. Postal inspector who was sent child pornography by Sikes through the Internet.
Prior to his arrest on federal charges, Sikes was charged with violating his state parole by parole officers who found a computer with images of child pornography in his home.
Sikes, a truck driver, was earlier found guilty in state court of attempted sexual abuse and possession of a sexual performance by a child. Assistant U. S. Attorney Marie P. Grisanti prosecuted Sikes.
