Darien Lake State Park closes beach to swimmers
Darien Lake State Park in Darien Center has closed its beach to swimmers, park officials announced Sunday.
Park manager Richard E. Parker said the beach was closed as a precautionary step due to unsatisfactory water-quality readings.
The decision to close the beach was made in consultation with Health Department officials. The water will continue to be monitored and tested. The public will be notified through the media when the beach reopens, park officials said.
