FREDONIA — Consultants interested in shaping a merger proposal for the Brocton and Fredonia Central School districts will be able to vie for the job from Tuesday through Aug. 15.
The merger feasibility study is expected to get under way on or before Oct. 20 and conclude no later than next April 20.
School boards from both districts have given the go-ahead for the request-for- proposal process, which will supervised by Robert Guiffreda, superintendent of the Erie 2-Chautauqua-Cattaraugus Board of Cooperative Educational Services.
The process requires applicants to prepare a proposal to explain their qualifications and outline the approach that would be used on the study.
Both districts are concerned about declining enrollment and possible cuts to program funding.
