Trujillo is first pastor of Resurrection Parish
BATAVIA— The Rev. Ivan R. Trujillo has been named the first pastor of the recently formed Resurrection Parish, a merger of St. Joseph and St. Mary churches. The announcement was made at weekend Masses.
Trujillo, a native of Bolivia, has been an associate at St. Mary for nearly 15 years and ministers to migrant labor camps in Genesee and Orleans counties.
He succeeds Monsignor Leo F. Mc- Carthy, St. Joseph pastor for more than 12 years. He will be moving as of July 6 to a temporary residence at Blessed Sacrament Parish in the Town of Tonawanda, pending a new assignment.
Resurrection Parish was established six months ago under the Diocese of Buffalo’s Journey of Faith and Grace. Both sites are used, but services and personnel have been reduced.
