Police locate two dogs that killed smaller one
PORT COLBORNE, Ont. — Two dogs taken from a Port Colborne animal shelter last month were located at a Port Colborne residence Friday, Niagara Regional Police said.
The dogs — both lab/boxer mixes — were brought to the animal shelter after they attacked and killed a small dog in Port Colborne on Aug. 26, authorities said. The dogs were owned by Gary Beaulieu and were seized and quarantined by the Humane Society, officials said.
Beaulieu was charged in connection with the attack.
The dogs disappeared after a break-in at the animal shelter Sept. 30.
Police found then Friday and returned them to the Humane Society, pending a court disposition.
