Recycling plant fire results in evacuation
FORT ERIE, Ont. — Firefighters battled a blaze at a recycling plant Friday, forcing the evacuation of homes and businesses for several blocks around.
The fire was reported at 5:52 p. m. at PCS, on Petitte Street. Thick, acrid smoke could be seen rising from the fire for miles around. No one was injured in the fire.
The blaze was mostly under control by 9 p. m.
The cause of the fire was not immediately available.
