Red Cross lifeguard course offered at Aquatic Center

The Town of Tonawanda Youth, Parks and Recreation Department will offer an American Red Cross Lifeguard Instructor course beginning Jan. 22 in the town’s Aquatic and Fitness Center, 1 Pool Plaza off Delaware Road near Thorncliff Road.
Classes will be held from 6:30 to 10 p. m. on Thursdays through April 9.
The department is seeking to train those who are at least 17 years old and who currently possess lifeguard certification so that they will be equipped to train others to become lifeguards and offer training in cardiopulmonary resuscitation and how to use an automated external defibrillator.
The cost to register is $87. For more information, call 876-7424.
