Man struck with gun, robbed by 4 carjackers
A Town of Tonawanda man was robbed, beaten and carjacked by four men Wednesday night in the city’s University District, police report.
The man was driving in the 400 block of Minnesota Avenue at about 6:45 p. m. when a man walked off a porch and approached him, while a second man walked in front of his pickup truck to make him stop, Northeast District police said. They ordered him out of the truck and took him to a rear yard, where two more men joined them. Police said one of the men struck him on the head with a silver gun. The assailants took his wallet, watch and cell phone, then fled with his pickup. Police said they recovered the truck on Elmer Avenue.
