Poloncarz backs Iannello for 61st District seat
Erie County’s top elected Democrat endorsed Legislator Michele A. Iannello for the State Senate seat of retiring Republican Mary Lou Rath on Thursday, granting her a significant piece of momentum in the three-way primary.
County Comptroller Mark C. Poloncarz called the candidate a “fresh face” committed to fiscal discipline, responsibility and accountability.
Iannello is competing against former heavyweight boxer Joe Mesi and Amherst Council Member Daniel J. Ward for the Democratic nomination.
