Teen admits to defacing street signs, dumpster
A City of Tonawanda resident pleaded guilty Thursday to criminal mischief and a misdemeanor charge of making graffiti for defacing street signs and a dumpster last winter.
Timothy VanLear, 17, of Bellhurst Road, was told by State Supreme Court Justice M. William Boller he will likely face probation, restitution and community service when sentenced Oct. 3. VanLear was allowed to remain free but under the control of his maternal grandmother. Prosecutor Thomas
D. Kubiniec said the Erie County district attorney’s office will likely seek about $640 in restitution for graffiti defacing street signs on Roosevelt Avenue and Main Street on Jan. 18 and on a Young Street dumpster Feb. 11.
