NIAGARA LEGISLATURE

New contract approved with sewer district union

Story tools:

LOCKPORT—A new contract with the 14 Teamsters Union members who work at the Niagara County Sewer District was approved by the County Legislature’s Administration Committee Tuesday.

County Manager Gregory D. Lewis said the deal, already ratified by the union, is retroactive to Jan. 1, 2006, and runs through the end of 2011. The workers will receive lump sum raises of $1,051 per year for 2006, 2007 and 2008. They also will receive 3 percent raises for 2009, 2010 and 2011.

“Now we have brought all county employees, union and nonunion, into our new health [insurance] plan,” Lewis said. The full Legislature is to vote on the deal next Tuesday.
