Whet your appetites while you learn some decorating and culinary arts skills at Lewiston’s first Tour of Kitchens from 10 a. m. to 4 p. m. Saturday and Sunday.

The event features a chance to visit six cooking and entertainment spaces found in homes in Lewiston and Youngstown. Each home will be paired with a local restaurant that will offer ticket holders a sample of their signature dish and a retailer who will set a “tablescape,” which is an artful way of setting a table for guests.

A portion of the $25 ticket will benefit the Historical Association of Lewiston and the Town of Porter Historical Society.

The event is designed for anyone who has an interest in redecorating, refurbishing or even just dreaming a bit about creating a phenomenal kitchen or entertainment space, said Sandra Hays Mies, president of Limelight WNY, an event management and marketing company that is launching the tour.

Between visiting the homes, ticket holders can stop for a wine and dessert tasting at Water Street Landing along the Niagara River in the Village of Lewiston, as well as taste specialty cakes from the Village Bake Shoppe and signature pastries at DiCamillo Bakery.

Samples such as a fresh brushetta bar, hand-pulled mozzarella, stuffed banana peppers, lobster and crab cakes, press box salad and Louisiana stuffed shells will be available in homes from featured area chefs from Water Street Landing, Carmelo’s Ristorante, Casa Antica Restaurant, Bistro at the Old Fort Inn and the Red Coach Inn, the Youngstown Village Diner and the Brickyard BBQ Pub.

Those attending will have a chance to enter a drawing for culinary- themed gifts, including an 18- piece set of Wolfgang Puck Stainless Steel Cookware.

Tickets are available for purchase online at www.tourofkitchens.net or at DiCamillo bakeries in Lewiston, Niagara Falls and Williamsville, as well as the Village Bake Shoppe, 417 Center St., Lewiston, and Kinetic Kitchens, 1655 Factory Outlet Blvd., Niagara Falls.
