Agency seeks volunteers to assist senior citizens
LOCKPORT — The Dale Association is seeking volunteers to help senior citizens fill out tax forms next year and to help run the weekly Friday night bingo games at the Lockport Senior Centre.
Tax volunteers will be part of a national program sponsored by AARP in association with the Internal Revenue Service. They will be trained and need not be accountants. They will be asked to work four hours per week on Tuesday, Wednesday or Thursday from Feb. 1 to April 15 at the Senior Centre. Those interested should call Jim Spedding at 434-2988.
Bingo volunteers, including floor monitors, games of chance sellers and number callers, will be asked to donate some Fridays from 5 to 9:30 p. m. at the Senior Centre. There will be training, and volunteers get a free dinner every Friday they work. Bingo buffs are asked to call 433-1886.
