Canal Discovery Center sponsoring poster contest
LOCKPORT — The Erie Canal Discovery Center is sponsoring its third annual poster contest for high school students to mark the anniversary of the opening of the canal, which was Oct. 26, 1825.
The deadline for entries is 4 p. m. Oct.
11. The winner and two runners-up will be announced at a ceremony at 11:30 a. m. Oct. 18 in the center, Church and Ontario streets.
Posters must measure 11-by-17 inches. Cash prizes are being offered. Entry forms are available at the Discovery Center and at the Niagara County historian’s office, 139 Niagara St.
