ATV operator charged with DWI after crash

NIAGARA FALLS — A man was charged with driving while intoxicated for driving his all-terrain vehicle into the door of a service station Sunday night on Niagara Street.

Michael H. Cannova, 46, of 28th Street, was additionally charged just before 8 p. m. with not wearing a helmet, improper use of an ATV, having no insurance and registration and unlicenced driving after he reportedly drove his ATV into the door at the Bajwa Parway Service Station at 710 Niagara Street.

The owner, Surjit Singh, told police that Cannova pulled up to get air for his tires and then when he got ready to leave was popping his wheels up in the air and lost control and ran into the door, breaking the metal control arm and causing $100 damage.
