Search for missing woman continues late into night
WILSON — More than 100 people searched late into Thursday for a missing 84-year-old woman suffering from dementia who may have gone looking for her cat.
Lucille Schurr last talked to relatives about 9 p. m. Wednesday and then disappeared from her home on Cambria-Wilson Road. Family members contacted authorities about 12:30 p. m. Thursday when they hadn’t heard from her.
Police, firefighters, two helicopters and several tracking dogs were employed in the search for the woman.
Family members told The Buffalo News Schurr often wears a dark green apron. They described her as petite, 5- foot-1, with glasses and salt-and-pepper hair and hard of hearing.
