138TH ASSEMBLY DISTRICT
Golisano gives $3,800 to Dahlke campaign
HARTLAND — Buffalo Sabres owner B. Thomas Golisano has given the legal maximum of $3,800 to the Assembly campaign of Paula Banks Dahlke, Republican hopeful in the 138th District, her campaign manager announced last week.
Thomas Stevenson said Dahlke, who is running against Democratic incumbent Francine DelMonte of Lewiston, received the money from Golisano’s personal account, not the political action committee he set up to fund candidates who agree with his agenda of lower taxes, less state spending and government reform.
Golisano, a Rochester billionaire, founded Paychex Corp.
Earlier this month, he set up a political action committee called Responsible New York and funded it with $5 million.
Dahlke’s other fundraising is unknown, as she had not filed her July 15 report with the state Board of Elections as of Friday.
DelMonte’s July 15 report said her campaign fund stood at $33,717, with her largest contribution in the last six months being $750 from Covanta Babylon, an energy services company from Fairfield, N. J.
