LOCKPORT
Town to name park for former supervisor
LOCKPORT — The town’s first park will be named Saturday for the man credited with establishing it.
Ceremonies will be held at 2 p. m. in John B. Austin Nature Park on Slayton Settlement Road, honoring the man who, as supervisor from 2000 through 2005, had pushed for its creation.
Austin, who previously had been town justice for 23 years, now lives in Edinboro, Pa., and is scheduled to attend the ceremony. A reception for Austin will follow in Spring Lake Winery, 7373 Rochester Road.
