CHEEKTOWAGA

Leaders are announced for Pulaski Day Parade

Story tools:

Retired Brig. Gen. Albyn F. Irzyk, a top aide to Gen. George Patton during World War II, and Rep. Brian Higgins, D-Buffalo, will lead the Pulaski Day Parade at 1:30 p. m. July 19.

The annual parade is held to commemorate Casimir Pulaski, a Polishborn calvary officer who trained soldiers during the American Revolutionary War, among his other contributions to the then-fledgling U. S. military.

The Pulaski Day Parade is an integral part of the Cheektowaga Polish-American Festival, which will be held July 17, 18 and 19. The parade route will begin at Thruway Plaza and proceed west on Walden Avenue to Harlem Road and then north to Cheektowaga Town Park.
