Sorority to kick off annual fundraising event

The Xi Epsilon Omega Chapter of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority will kick off its annual fundraising event with a silent auction, fashion show and buffet lunch at 1 p. m. Saturday in Hearthstone Manor, 333 Dick Road, Depew.
The event — with the theme “ESP-Extra Special People” — supports the chapter’s community programs, including a senior citizen program in St. John Baptist Church’s Senior Tower, a leadership intern development program, and the Adopt a Family project.
Tickets to the event are $30 and can be purchased from sorority members or at the door. Also, this year marks the sorority’s centennial anniversary.
