Vet Center leaves downtown and moves to Amherst site

Story tools:

The Vet Center has moved from Franklin Street in downtown Buffalo to 2372 Sweet Home Road, Amherst.

The facility was among the first to open in the country 30 years ago after Congress mandated specialized programs of counseling for Vietnam veterans and their family members, according to the U. S. Department of Veterans Affairs in Buffalo.

The center continues to provide outreach counselors who now also assist Iraq and Afghanistan veterans.

For further information, call the center at 862-7350.
